Audrey Justine Tautou (born Audrey Justine Tautou) is an French model and actor. She gained fame with her portrayal as a shy, eccentric waitress Amelie who won many awards. Tautou was often compared to Audrey Hepburn, due to the mix of attractiveness, charismatic acting and her talent. The pretty, dark-haired girl who comes from a scholarly family was not likely to choose acting for a profession. Her father is dental surgeon and her mother was a teacher. In high school, she got the acting bug, which led her to decide to pursue a career as a professional actor. She took acting classes at Cours Florent, and then landed an appearance on the television film Coeur de cible. Her feature film debut with Venus Beauty Institute for which she received a lot of praise. A daring actress, she's appeared in many genres, from romantic comedies like Amelie and thrillers like Dirty Pretty Things. Her French roots allowed her to be a part of many French films, before it was time to make her Hollywood debut with Tom Hanks. She is a highly regarded model due to her style.
